What is Laser Tattoo Removal?
Black tattoo pigment is the easiest to treat, as it absorbs all laser wavelengths. Other colors are only treatable with selected lasers. The RevLite laser Dr. Jennifer Armstrong uses in Fullerton, with a large spectrum of laser wavelengths, is excellent for targeting any tattoo ink color.
What Can I Expect During my Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment?
In our tattoo removal session, you will be given protective eye shields and your skin’s reaction to the laser will be tested to determine the most efficient energy. The laser is then used to pass pulses of intense light through the top layers of your skin. The light will be absorbed by the tattoo pigments only. Smaller tattoos will require fewer pulses and larger tattoos will require more. Your tattoo will become progressively lighter with each treatment session.
You will need more than one treatment session to remove a tattoo. The number of sessions needed will depend on the type of ink used and the size of the tattoo. Professional tattoos typically require more sessions to remove than amateur tattoos. When you visit our office for a consultation, we can give you an estimate of how many sessions you will need to remove your tattoo.
