What Are Saline Injections?

Sire, MD, and Armstrong MD, saline injections are safe, effective treatments for shallow atrophic and “rolling” scars, which form an uneven appearance on the surface of the skin. These scar treatments are nearly pain-free an can be combined with laser resurfacing or dermabrasion to enhance your results. After a series of quick, comfortable treatments, most patients enjoy permanent results.
What Can I Expect During my Saline Injection Treatment?
Each saline injection takes about 10-15 minutes. Once your dermatologist injection the solution into your scar, your treatment is complete. Results with saline injections are gradual. It typically takes about 10 treatments to achieve optimal results. While every patient is unique, Dr. Armstrong usually recommends bi-monthly treatments to improve and maintain your results.
What Can I Expect After my Saline Injection Treatment?
Saline injections require no downtime. Most patients resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. Some temporary redness and swelling are expected, but should subside within hours.
