Dysport®
Dysport® is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that is most commonly compared to Botox®. This injectable is also considered a neurotoxin and is typically used to treat the fine lines and deep wrinkles that occur around the upper third of the face. Like Botox®, Dysport® treats the fine lines and deep wrinkles along the forehead, frown lines between the brows, bunny lines along the bridge of the nose, and crow’s feet around the outer eyes.

What is Dysport?
Dr. Armstrong and her team may recommend patients consider Dysport® if they’re resistant to the effects of Botox® and are looking for procedures that provide patients with the same naturally youthful results. Remember, Dysport® and other neurotoxin treatments temporarily relax the muscles in the treated areas to smooth away and prevent the appearance of new dynamic wrinkles, meaning you won’t want to use this in place of dermal fillers.

What Can I Expect During my
Dysport Treatment?
Your Dysport® treatment will be performed by Dr. Jennifer Armstrong in our state-of-the-art facility. Before your treatment begins, a topical anesthetic may be applied to your treatment area, typically around the forehead and brows. This is to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. Once numb, Dr. Armstrong will begin carefully and strategically make a series of Dysport® injections into your desired treatment area. The entire treatment process typically takes less than 20 minutes to complete.
What Can I Expect After my
Dysport Treatment?
Immediately following your Dysport® treatment, you may notice some redness, swelling, and tenderness around your treated areas. This is normal and all side effects typically resolve on their own within a day or two of treatment. Because the active properties in Dysport® take a few days to develop, patients may not see the full results of their treatment for three to 14 days following their initial appointment. The results of your Dysport® treatments should last between four to six months at a time. Because of this, Dr. Armstrong and her team may suggest getting regular quarterly treatments to maintain your ultimate desired look.
Am I a Good Candidate for Dysport?
If you are unhappy with the fine lines and wrinkles around the upper third of your face, Dysport® may be right for you. Ideal candidates for Dysport® are in general good health and have realistic expectations of their results.
